WE'RE ON A MISSION
The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape is working to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault.
Sexual violence is widespread in human trafficking. While some victims may be trafficked for sexual purposes, many victims who are trafficked into labor roles experience sexual violence. Victims of human trafficking who have been sexually victimized have unique needs. Due to their familiarity with sexual victimization, victim advocates have a skill set that is particularly useful in addressing these special needs. Therefore, it is vital that advocates who may encounter victims of human trafficking understand how they can best assist these women and men, particularly through working with other organizations. Therefore, the goal of this guide is to support rape crisis advocates in their collaborative responses to sex trafficking.
