The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape is working to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault.

Sexual violence & individuals who identify as LGBTQ is an information packet containing nearly a dozen resources focused on serving, engaging, and collaborating with individuals and communities who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ). The packet contains resources to support counselors, advocates, preventionists, technical assistance providers, and allied professionals committed to affirming all individuals and communities. The goals of this packet it to provide resources that will both strengthen work already being done, as well as assist organizations in discovering a place to begin program development.
This packet includes an Annotated Bibliography, a Research Brief, a Resource List, and guides on Talking about Gender & Sexuality, Creating Inclusive Agencies, the Process of Coming Out, the Impact of Discrimination, Hate & Bias-Motivated Crimes, the Impact on Individuals & Communities, Sexual Harassment & Bullying of Youth, and Transformative Prevention Programming.

Sexual violence violates a person’s trust, autonomy and safety. Sexual assault occurs when one person does not give consent.
A sexual assault can happen to anyone regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, geography, ability, appearance, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
This brochure provides facts, frequently asked questions, and resources for support for those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning who have experienced sexual violence.

This one hour webinar provides basic information about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) communities, words and language for productive discussions, and some background on the coming out process. Specific focus is on counseling techniques and prevention education tips for rape crisis center advocates and educators. The select resources and research in this special collection illustrates the LGBTIQ communities’ experiences with sexual violence within the US. Resources especially relevant to these individuals, as well as straight allies and professionals, address the issue of sexual violence in LGBTIQ communities, relationships, and the impact on society.
