Keynote Speaker

Veraunda I. Jackson, Esquire
Attorney, Author, Trainer and Consultant

When communicating with victims of sex crimes, it is not what you say, but how you say it! As a victim of rape at the age of sixteen, Veraunda turned that experience into a rewarding career as a prosecutor who advocated for both juvenile and adult victims of sex crimes. Veraunda invites professionals, college students and other groups that advocate on behalf of victims into the extremely complex and private thought process of victims. She is devoted to touching the hearts of the professionals who often become worn out and hardened by the system they work, in addition to providing practical information to help prevent this crime. She reminds them that everyday they have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others.
