WE'RE ON A MISSION
The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape is working to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault.
You are not responsible for the cost of the forensic exam and related medications received at the hospital. You can choose to have your insurance billed or Pennsylvania’s Victims Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP) billed. You should never receive a bill for the exam. The counselor/advocate can explain VCAP in more detail and also explain how you may recoup other costs you incur from the sexual assault, such as medical expenses, replacement of healthcare items lost or damaged during the crime, and lost wages from missing work due to the crime, etc. See “Victims of Crime” for details and eligibility information.
The Victims Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP) is a program of the Office of Victims’ Services of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
