Take action!
You can make a difference. It’s easy. Choose one or more of the activities
below and help prevent sexual violence in your community!
Give a Daisy – Flowers make people happy. Buy a bunch of daisies to share with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and share the message about sexual violence prevention.
Speak Out – Call your community leaders, state representatives and members of Congress. Ask what they are doing to address sexual violence and to make our communities safer.
Daisy Art Auction – contact a local art gallery about hosting a “daisy art auction.” Invite local artists – adults, high school and college students – to donate works of art featuring the daisy flower. Donate the proceeds to your local rape crisis center.
Educate Others – help raise awareness about sexual violence and its prevention by distributing information through your workplace, civic/social organization or place of worship.
Plant a daisy garden – approach a local urban gardening organization/city revitalization group and host a “daisy planting party” in a city garden or empty lot. A planting party could also be arranged with a city or county park. Include a sign to represent your work “The DAISY symbolizes our commitment to ending sexual violence. A simple flower can make a powerful statement. Help grow the solution!”
Voice your opinion – let others know the importance of working together to prevention sexual violence by writing a letter to the editor of your local paper
Become a “virtual volunteer” – Create a personal space of
your own on the Web to let others know about the importance of working together
to prevent sexual violence.
