The Alice Paul House is seeking to hire an Education Advocate. Individual must have a genuine desire to serve survivors of Indiana County.Individual must have a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavior sciences, education, or the general sciences, and two years of professional classroom or formalized training, instruction, or teaching experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training, including 2 years of professional instruction/training experience in the field of sociology, psychology, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Develop and present up-to-date sexual assault, domestic violence, victims of other crimes, and victims of juvenile offenders' education awareness and prevention programs to secondary school students, University students, community groups, social service agencies, medical staff and law enforcement personnel.
- Develop and present sexual assault, domestic violence, victims of other crimes and victims of juvenile offenders' education awareness and prevention programs and prevention programs to elementary school students and children's community groups.
- Provide System Advocacy training to a variety of partner organizations in order to create awareness and collaboration.
- Development and distribution of advertisements, press releases, and public service announcements as specified by grant requirements.
Employment contingent upon: PA Act 34 Certification, Act 151 certification, FBI Fingerprint Clearance and successful completion of approved APH 80-hour Crisis Intervention Training.
